In his New York debut appearance, Vassilis Zoulias will present his "NEW LOOK NEW YORK" demi couture collection. This collection explores a variety of traditional fabrics like cashmere, silk crepe marocain, satin duchesse, silk shantung, faille, taffeta and old couture techniques. The starting point of this presentation was the need to pay homage to the timeless images of elegant women during the heyday of couture. An era that still defines the way we view style today. The designer’s aim is to transport guests to a bygone world, the perfumed atmosphere of a "salon couture" where the models act as well bred, slightly naughty "grandes dames" and the fashion displays an eye popping opulence.
Ever since its establishment Athens Xclusive Designers Week, the international fashion week of Athens, aims to enhance the “extrovert” character of Greek Fashion and to promote the work of Greek fashion designers beyond Greek borders. Within this context, it has developed significant strategic alliances with international fashion institutions, giving Greek designers the opportunity to present their work in various markets abroad.
Athens Xclusive Designers Week is now proud to announce another important strategic alliance with Nolcha Fashion Week: New York a leading award winning event for independent fashion designers and officially listed with Mercedes Benz as the two recognized Fashion Weeks by New York City Economic Development Corporation. Signalling the beginning of this cooperation, Athens Xclusive Designers Week will be represented by Vassilis Zoulias at Nolcha Fashion week: New York in February. In the same context, designer Castro-Rojas will be representing Nolcha Fashion Week at Athens Xclusive Designers Week taking place in March 2012.
It is the goal of Athens Xclusive Designers Week to continue building such vital strategic alliances and co operations with international fashion weeks, actively fulfilling its mission – to “Xport Greek Fashion Globally”.
